Photography as medicine for the soul.

I’m passionate about the power that creative photography has to greatly improve emotional and mental well-being.

What everyone, including me, is craving right now is genuine human connection.

Throughout my life, I’ve used the process of making photographs as a story-telling, healing conduit, and now I’ve formed that journey into a framework called The LENS Method™ to help others.

A few years ago, I was forced to slow down while caring for my newborn son, after recovering from postpartum psychosis and anxiety. I remember reflecting about how I had been through a lot of major life challenges over the past 15 years – including 3 psychiatric hospitalizations, miscarriages, and the sudden loss of my sister to breast cancer, to name a few. I’ve been creating photos my entire life, and I know that doing that has had a profound effect on my ability to process my emotions, and to connect with my intuition.

Through my journey I’ve learned to become emotionally resilient, no matter what life throws at me.  One of the many life lessons that came to the forefront for me during this process of having experienced so much mental and emotional health turmoil, and the one that I appreciate the most, is about knowing and owning my own worthiness.

We are all here for a reason, and sharing our stories truly matters.

I believe now is the time for all of us to do what we can with what we have to help create a world that we want our children to live in.  For me, that means to start using my talents and skills as an award-winning professional photographer, along with my life experiences as my own mental health advocate, to help empower others to improve their emotional wellbeing.

“When you change the way you look at things,
the things you look at change.”

– Wayne Dyer

These workshops and programs encourage you to connect with your emotions and with your everyday life experiences.  Photography is a powerful tool that can make you feel differently and deeply.

Creating your own images with intention can help you become a more empowered co-creator of your life.

I’ve designed the ‘photo story prompts’ to guide us to practice and implement the 5 Pillars of Emotional Resilience.  It’s about experiencing creative play in an accessible way, and with a bigger purpose in mind.

The program is designed to be done both virtually and independently within small group settings, where we:
  • RMeet and talk about the upcoming photo story prompt
  • RGo off on our own to take photos using that prompt as inspiration
  • RMeet again to share our images and talk about them
  • RCreate a printed book of our own images along with affirmations and quotes
